Our fieldtrip to Indian Rock in Vista was kind of fun. It was interesting to learn something new and not only look at the scenery but experience it by touching and smelling plants. The view was beautiful and although it was a bit cold there was blue sky and you could see all the way to the ocean. It's so tragic that this sacred rock has been defaced, but I did find a portion where you could see the original markings clearly (photo3). The story behind the markings was quite interesting too. I could never depict that these marking were for young girls beginning menstruation by just looking at them so I’m glad we had somebody to educate us.
